  1. A couple of quotes for you.

“Wine is a living liquid containing no preservatives. Its life cycle comprises youth, maturity, old age, and death. When not treated with reasonable respect it will sicken and die.”
    —JULIA CHILD

“I find friendship to be like wine, raw when new, ripened with age, the true old man’s milk and restorative cordial.”
    —THOMAS JEFFERSON

  2. Thanks for those Mike.

  3. One more

“Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.”
    —BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

  4. One a bit closer to home!

“The soft extractive note of an aged cork being withdrawn has the true sound of a man opening his heart.”
—WILLIAM SAMUEL BENWELL, Journey to Wine in Victoria

  5. Thanks again Mike, some nice finds! It is an eminently quotable subject.

  6. “Cabernet sauvignon is the black Labrador of wines—it comes up and licks you. Pinot noir is more cerebral. It’s a cat.”
—SCOTT RICH, winemaker, Moraga Vineyards, California

I’m not too sure about the cerebral=cat analogy, but my wife might agree with it.

The question is what wine would represent a Standard Poodle (or vice versa). Our big 65lb male (Strider – from LOTR) is a big bully on the surface but underneath that he’s just loves people. Sounds like Aussie shiraz to me!!

    Mike

  7. In water one sees one’s own face; But in wine one beholds the heart of another – French proverb

  8. Thanks Mike, I’m not really a dog (or a cat!) person, so I’m not sure about the poodle, from what I’ve seen they are stylish, refined, classy and just a bit snobby, how about mature red Bordeaux?

Thanks for that quote Duarte, I really like it!

Quotes were turned off temporarily while I upgraded the software this blog runs on, but they are back now.
